Anyway choose whatever reasons you have for whatever is best. I think the whole physics argument is bullshit and this certainty helps my conviction.

It would help if I knew which game is which.

"The whole physics argument is bullshit"
What on earth do you mean?

In order
iRacing - Physics aren't bullshit. The cars behave the way I'd expect them to, as do setup changes. The cars that I've driven in real life drive the same way in the game. Also, the racing is top notch once you get good at it. The learning curve is very steep, though.
Asseto Corsa - Not as big of a fan of the physics as I am of iRacing, but the force feedback is spectacular and the graphics are better. Might work well in picking up the slack left by a lack of single player options in iRacing, but the multiplayer functionality isn't as good. The bot AI isn't bad.
Project Cars - Never used it
Forza 5 - Seriously? Why do people still think that this counts? It looks good, but a simulator it is not.

Everyone's talking about racing video games, and I'm just sitting here looking at the track day schedule.

People righting off games because the physics don't match up to some imaginary comparison to what they are like in real life.

If you track, you'd probably dig iRacing. It's a sim, not a video game, which I know sounds pretentious, but it's true. You can only do single car practices or races/practices on track with other people. No bots or AI.

So you've driven an old Lotus F1 car around Spa have you?
Also why isn't Forza a sim? It gave me a pretty good impression what it was like to drive a 12c around Silverstone which was great when I actually did it.

In terms of gfx it's clear that P.Cars is gorgeous, if you have a machine that can handle it, my laptop can barely run it. Assetto Corsa might have the better physics and getting there in terms of visuals. iRacing though, good physics, good graphics, great racing. Thats what you should be worried about. I can forgive graphics that are a little dated. I can forgive physics that doesn't accurately depict what the car felt like on that day, with those tyres and with that amount of wind that particular day. I can't forgive shit racers, this is where iRacing shines.

Lemme repost that sentence since you're having some trouble with it.
The cars that I've driven in real life drive the same way in the game.
As much as I wish I could drive a Lotus 79, I did not claim to. I said that the cars I've driven have been accurate. The Miata and Solstice feel pretty much exactly as they do in iRacing and the Mustang and VW TDi are similar, but not exact (they're prepped in the game, and I drove regular ones in real life). I've driven Sebring and Daytona, and both are pretty much perfect in the sim.

I've seen all of them I real life and they all look much better than on the video thanks to YouTube compressions etc. As for physics, games like this run in perfect conditions. Perfect track, Perfect tyres, etc so arguing what is closest to real life is bullshit as far as I am concerned. I only care whether or not the driving model is fun by default since with all these games you can fiddle with the underlying Simulation but I ain't got time for that.

If you're looking for a game, project cars or forza. If you're looking to race (fiddle with the underlying bits) go AC or iRacing.

You appear to rank the videos based on physics that would imply you would have knowledge of the track behavior of the Lotus at Spa unless you were just giving your opinion of the games in question in which case whatever you're free to feel what you want but the whole point of posting the vid was to show how similar the games are and thus why I believe the whole physics argument is bullshit.

But that means I'd need money to get a computer that will run it (a 6 year old MacBook Pro won't cut it), and then all the ancillary stuff for the setup.
Which would buy a fair number of parts for the Audi racer.
(Yes, I'm stupid enough to have a B5 Audi as a track car)

You would also need to pay for content and the subscription. It gets expensive, but it's a small company and you see where the money goes. They also listen to their customers and pay attention to the forums, which is nice. They changed the setup and track selection of the Lotus 79 series for us when we asked them to.

Maybe my fists are made of ham, (I don't have much time to play sim games, nor I am particularly talented) but I always felt that cars in iRacing were way too unstable*. a 100 kph corner meant that at 98 kph the car didn't even notice it and at 102 you were in a fireball spinning out of control.
AC is a little more forgiving, but I feel that the car is always telling you what is doing. It can still bite, but it will show you its teeth before doing it.
For people with old computers I would reccomend LFS, Rfactor and Richard Burns rally.
* Even Gregger Huttu said that when he tested the Formula Mazda, the real car was more stable
